ALL ABOUT WCOPA...
WHAT IS THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS OF PERFORMING ARTS?
For centuries, there has been an exclusive “Olympics” for athletes. This discriminatory practice is being corrected for performing artists by the creation of the “World Championships of Performing Arts” (WCOPA), cited as the one and only “official Talent Olympics” for aspiring performers and entertainers. After 20 years of incredible growth, it is the only international talent and modeling competition of its kind annually held in or around “Hollywood”, the entertainment capital of the world! Similar to the Olympics, only invited and qualified competitors (called Worldstars) represent their countries and compete each year in a fierce competition for “the gold”!
WHAT are “International Worldstars”?
International Worldstars are those achieving talent and models from around the world that have been exclusively screened, qualified and invited to represent their countries at the one-and-only, ultimate world championships for aspiring performers and entertainers:
JUNIOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS OF PERFORMING ARTS (JWCOPA)
For aspiring performers 15 and under
WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS OF PERFORMING ARTS (WCOPA)
For aspiring performers and entertainers ages 16 and over.
HOW ARE CONTESTANTS SELECTED AND INVITED?
Like the Olympics, the finest aspiring talent and modeling competitors from countries are qualified and invited. Every contestant attending the World Championships of Performing Arts system is screened, qualified and selected under specific guidelines established by WCOPA, and executed by Scouts and licensed National Directors from the invited countries. Contestant-at-large procedures are available where there is no director.
HOW MANY COUNTRIES WILL BE REPRESENTED?
Delegations of outstanding competitors from approximately fifty (50) countries will be represented at both the Junior World Championships and the World Championships.
WHAT ORGANIZATION BACKS THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS?
WORLDSTARS INTERNATIONAL Inc. organizes and manages The World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA), in concert with the International Selection Committee (ISC), which provides the foundation for this annual talent competition.

WHAT IS THE MISSION OF THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS SYSTEM?
To create the ultimate, international Olympic-style competition for performing artists with an emphasis on accurate, professional "Hollywood" entertainment industry education and experiences.
WHAT ARE THE GUIDELINES FOR AN OFFICIAL CONTESTANT?
An official contestant must be a citizen and/or resident (or nationality) in good standing of the country represented, may be an amateur or professional, must have been qualified and invited according to World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA) guidelines, and must comply with the rules and regulations established by the WCOPA. This “Official Contestant’s Handbook” is provided to each contestant describing details of and codes for the global competition.
The competing areas are

6. Variety Act (Act with assistance, act without assistance, act with props)
WHAT ARE THE ROUNDS OF COMPETITION?
There are potentially two or perhaps three (3) rounds of preliminary competitions/performances during the World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA):
1st Round- Medalist
The first round of competition at the World Championships of the Performing Arts determines the medalists: gold, silver, and bronze. Panels of judges score contestants by the following method: 90 -100 points = superior rating; 80 - 89 points = excellent rating; 70 -79 points = good rating; 69 points and under = fair rating. The entry in a competition with the highest number of points from a panel of judges receives a gold medal, the next highest receives a silver, and the next receives a bronze. Depending on scores and age groups, the medalists proceed (and in rare cases, high scorers) to the Overall World Championships competition (Round 2). If there is only one (or two persons) in a category, one must meet pre-determined score. Example: 90-100 to earn a gold medal…or 80 - 89 to earn silver.
2nd Round Medalist- Overall World Champions
The scores from Round 1 are combined into overall age divisions. The highest scores will be awarded overall in each category (Example: Acting, Dance, Model, Vocalist and Instrumentalist) in each overall age division.
*Not all categories will receive awards.
3rd Round – Selection of Finalists
Outstanding and entertaining performers chosen during Round 2 will then perform before a selected panel of judges and designees by WCOPA to determine the Finalists who will compete for the “Grand Champion of the World” competition category titles and ultimately the “Grand Champion Performer of the World” titles before a celebrated VIP panel of judges. The finals are an exciting “Showcase of Champions” contest! Please note: Any act, competitor or category not considered strong enough for final consideration and competition by the event producers, and/or designee by WCOPA and/or any difficulty with music clearance, etc. may be taped for announcement purposes only or simply announced, and/or not perform at the finals.
HOW IS AGE CALCULATED?
The age of the contestant on July 1, 2017 determines the age category of competition. For duets, trios, quartets, choirs, groups and production numbers, it is calculated by age averaging. Every member’s age as of July 1, 2017 is added together then divided by the number of members in the group. If the average age of a group ends in 0.5 or higher, then it is rounded up to the next higher age.
HOW ARE AGE DIVISIONS DETERMINED?
Age on the first day of July 2017 determines the age group. Groups are determined by taking all the ages of all members and then dividing the number members into the total. Example: ages 14, 15, 16 = 45 divided by 3 = 15. The age division would be 13 - 15.
WHAT IS THE JUDGING CRITERIA?
Special emphasis is placed on “entertainment value and marketability” during judging. This in no way takes away from the technical aspect of the performances, however, judges are looking for that special charisma (“it”) that most top entertainers have. Performance times of one minute (60 seconds) are strictly enforced. Contestants with the highest scores by panels of judges in respective events are the winners. Over 100 persons from the entertainment industry (i.e. agents, managers, casting directors, record label reps) are invited to judge, conduct seminars and cast during the week-long event.
